Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark by Alvin Schwartz and Illustrated by Stephen Gammell

Another childhood book of short scary stories that linger long after reading. The illustrations present an eerie creepy images to go along with the bone chilling tales. A book often challenged if 'kids' should actually be reading such tales including macabre and dark topics. However, even as a child, I recall the thrill of the jump scares, the terror clinging after closing the book, and I wanted more (thankfully More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark)
