Book Review: Say Cheese and Die

Say Cheese and Die! by RL Stine

Some of my first experiences with reading horror were likely a series called Goosebumps by RL Stine. Some books are stand alone while others had sequels. Say Cheese and Die has a follow up book. The story is about a camera, when the camera takes a picture, it shows pictures that spell out a dark demented future. When the pictures develop they predict unfortunate occurences and the main character fears that they might be the next victim of the camera's curse.

RL Stine Goosebumps often feature some formulaic elements to the characters, such as being a kid the age of the reader 8 to 12 with a bratty sibling and parents/adults that don't believe them. Still even with the stock children characters the books are spooky first taste into horror.
